May 18th Blog Post

I’ve been thinking about my ability as a 3D modeller, I am not amazing at 3D modelling, but I would love to keep going to improve my skills, so I decided, the main human character which I’m making for the game I’ll model myself, it most likely won’t look amazing, or realistic, I think I would be able to go for a N64/PS1 style model for the main character, so it would fit better with the dragon.
It most likely would change at a later date, but I’m going to challenge myself with making this 3D model to improve my skills as a 3D modeller.
I began the concept designs for the main character, just to get an idea of how I want her to look, this probably isn’t the final design though, what do you think?

I’m not sure of what colour scheme yet, and I don’t even know why I’ve done the drawings in this style if I’m going to be modelling it in very low poly! Let me know what you think about this.

  1. This is awesome! :O

If you look at concept art from N64 games (like Ocarina of Time) they still put in all the detail to the design, they didn’t make the concepts low detail at all.

I think what you’ve got there is perfect to translate into that style, or if you change your mind, you could try higher detail too. It’s the best of both worlds!

Looking forward to seeing this in 3D
